Colonial New Castle in snow

With some decent snow yesterday (with lots of ice today), I decided to take some pictures of historic New Castle, Delaware, while in the area.

Colonial buildings look great in snow.

The Green

Aull's Row

The old Rising Sun Tavern

George Read II House

The Strand

Alexander Alley

The old New Castle Court House

Great pics, reminds me of Burlington, NJ, except I think New Castle is a little nicer

Those were some cool winter pics, thanks for the mini-tour.

Some of those houses are either very well maintained, very well built, or very well restored, because they didn't look old enough to be from the colonial period. Great stuff.

A beautiful place!

I didn't appreciate Delaware enough (except for the beaches) when I was a young whippersnapper in the Air Force. Thanks for the photo threads.

Half way expect to see old George Washington trudging about on his way to Trenton. Nice set Matt, thanks for braving the cold to entertain us.

Very well built, and very well maintained. I'm sure a couple were restored, and all modernized with plumbing, electricity and the such, but the houses you saw are from the 1730s to the 1830s, with a couple before or after.

Great thread, Matt
