Super pictures. You captured lots of the beauty and some of the ugliness too. Just need a few more of the River Walk and also some around El Mercado; you know, Milam Plaza, Travis Park, some from Lexington and Main looking south, Baptist Memorial area, Christus Santa Rosa area. Otherwise you covered just about all the buildings in downton. Great job Boris!!!

i must say, for being a former employee of the joe's crabshack on the riverwalk and having a partner that worked there for about a year, i had gotten a chance to get to know dt pretty well. in your pictures though, there are so many different area that i had seen but not from the eagles eye perspective that is shown by your photos.

boris i thank you for takin the time and putting them up to share with all of us. you seem to be the one to rely upon if quality photos are needed, because everytime you post photos, it is as good as reading a architectures digest on san antonio. you did a splended job and will look forward to your next posting... hopefully not too long but not soon enough where there has been no progress on any of these buildings that we admire... thanks matt

i have a post about vidorra so check it out yall

NIce pics...We really need a shitload more buildings...thats basically the same downtown as 20 years ago. Thats way too long to go without adding even a top 5 new tallest. Threads like this just depress me about our dt. Hyatt is coming along nice.

WOW! Great thread, Boris. I loved all the zoomed in shots on the building facades. Very nice.

By the way, I was born in that hospital.

That policeman sure was lookin at you funny!! Excellent pictures btw. And I love the shots that are more from street level. There's nothing like being in DT at street level, it's really something and even makes the talls look taller.

I'm all for new construction and highrises, but not in DT SA. I love it just the way it is. Like I told Trae in his Atlanta Forum, I think if they build more glass towers in DT SA the DT would lose its charm. I think all future highrises should be built outside of the CBD, IMHO.

But, I'm not from SA, so I'll shut up now.

Adios

I think new towers would be nice, as long as they are not all glass and had some brick/stone work to go along with the rest of Downtown. An all glass tower rising up in the middle off all that would look out of place. It wouldn't be that bad, though. There are some historic buildings in Downtown Houston that are surrounded by 50-70 story glass towers.
