It's one thing for a Denverite to snark on a perceived flaw in Denver,"and there are plenty as with any city." However, see what happens when someone from Los Angeles,Phoenix,or The Wasatch intrudes upon your thread and makes the same put-down. I would think that as long as rds70 has been around he would understand that. In all fairness to the many good forumers over in Denver," I think almost all do understand."
As far as the Metro Denver having the same residential topography as the Wasatch Front, I suppose you also think that Winter's in Denver are milder than L.A. Denver is not Western Colorado,"which has very beautiful scenery." "Yes, for a plains city Denver has better vista's than cities such as Omaha, etc." I have been in,through,north,south and all around metro Denver a hundred times. The continued progress of Denver's development is exemplary. However, the vast majority of residential lots in Denver donot resemble The Wasatch's spectacular norm of topography. Hey, those are just the facts. We have had this discussion on this thread before, and pic's will speak far louder than words.
This was posted by a Denver forumer on page five of this thread. This is suppose to be a prime example of the metro vista. How well do you really think I can see those hills in the distance from my deck or living room window? This is the EXACT perspective and is not enhanced to make the mountains seem bigger than they really are as viewed from this vantage point.
Now, here are example's of what we see from our residences. With the exception of the view of Mt. Nebo as seen from across Utah Lake, NONE of these photo's have enhanced the REAL perspective of the mountains as they appear to the actual resident.
And this is just one of the least impressive of vista's in Salt Lake.
