I think the placement of the windows on the building to the west may have some influence on it being set back. I like the pedestrian space too. I think they want a plaza on the river side.

Really? That's even less than I thought it was. Wow, what a contrast between these buildings.

I too like the pedestrian space along the side of this building. Though it would be cool to have a solid wall along the river with all the buildings lined up edge to edge with each other, I think its better that we have them staggered and have this kind of variety in placement.

No pix, but an update. They have rebar onsite and it appears that they are laying the rebar for the pad. This was as of this morning at around 8:45am

Hey I resemble that remark!

Actually been lurking for a long time but never got around to joining until Nov. 06. Although I never asked for more pics, I do have a question: Why is it so f---ing tough to post pics here? I am members of two other forums that use this exact same format but allow direct posting of pics from your PC.

Before I get too off thread, I think 300 will make a great addition to the river building-scape.

Oh wow, rebar already? It looks like they are getting pretty close to a mat pour. This is exciting, Waterview and 300 Lasalle will be rising at almost the exact same time. They might top out at almost the same time since Waterview has a head start and smaller floor plates, but 300 Lasalle is shorter and steel. This will be fun to watch, don't forget about Trump either, the river will have a canopy of cranes esp if CS stars in Q2 next year!

I wouldn't get too excited. They still have to excavate the rest of the site down to where the core is now. To do that, they'll build the core up a few levels and then brace back to that. But they'll be in the ground for a long time.

I just didn't know if you knew how much more work they have to do below grade. If you are aware of that and still think that its going to top out way before waterview then i guess that's fine too. You probably have a better feel for how long waterview will take than I do anyway.

thanks for all the great info everyone! im a kirkland employee and we don't get any updates on the status of our new building. i'm excited to move to such a great location and beautiful building!
