The streetview from that date has a pretty good view of the damage.

As someone who worked for Boardwalk from 2022-2025 as a plumber/ gas fitter. They value that piece of land like no other and would never sell it. Its a major revune stream with those units being consistently rented out. There have always been rumors of building an apartment tower there but will it ever happen, highly doubt it. If so it would be most likely similar to the Pines edge 1,2,3 off of Dorothy Street. Having said that, they would sooner build on the land behind those apartment buildings as they own that land and could fit 3 more of those styles back there. In the last meeting I was involved in there corporate plans. Stressed getting rid of old property's for new ones as capital cost on older buildings and towers is through the roof. They bought new units in Regina last year and the rumor was Lockwood apartments could be sold. But I agree the Wascana land is prime real-estate

Also this is considered to some degree more affordable housing and missing middle housing as Regina sorely lacks in townhomes vs other cities in the west. Why in the world would we ever get rid of these and kick these people out of their homes just to create what would be overly expensive condos which can be built on countless parcels of empty land around the city.

While flying over to get a shot of the cattle barn work I took 1 picture of the Distillery not thinking any changes were visible from the outside. But when editing the photo I noticed they added another row of balcony slabs from the inside. They started covering the new section of the cattle barn. They also cut out a strip of asphalt from the internation trade building over towards the transformer that is in the way, so maybe that is getting moved (looking closer, the asphalt around those 3 boxes was also removed since yesterday). I also got some shots of that sports facility in the Chuka Creek Business park. It looks like its is almost done, whatever it is for. Only other photos I took of it were from mid October last year.

Regarding QC Distillers, here is a list of the venues from their website. This is really exciting. Something for everyone:

A one-of-a-kind, 320-person Sports Bar perfect for enjoying before and after Saskatchewan Roughrider and Regina Pats games, or for catching broadcasts of NHL, NFL, NBA and other national leagues amongst friends with top-tier food and drink menus.

A fast-paced, but elevated 178-person Restaurant where you get your meal with a dash of local ingredients and fresh flavours that stay true to the culture of Regina and our ambitious yet grounded residents.

An exclusive, 125-person speakeasy-style lounge perfect for a nightcap after the show or to see a performer on a small stage while enjoying specialty cocktails

A unique, experience-forward 54-person Premium Wine & Spirits Bar where storytellers and distilling experts bring spirits, wine and other beverages to life.

A two-story, 1,490-person Live Music Club where local artists have the opportunity showcase their talents and touring artists have a reason to stop in the Queen City on the prairie leg of their tours across Canada.

Last week I heard that Moe had talked about a full sized reactor for Saskatchewan as opposed to the smoke and mirrors modulars ones, but couldn't find a source. Now they are openly considering it.

Yeah the SMRs seem like a pipe dream. Ontario's first one is costing $7.7 Billion. What is even the point.

Rumors abound that the geothermal system at the aquatic centre is turning out to be problematic. If this gets dropped it will just be another in the long string a federally induced boondoggles that the City has endured. The City needs to learn to sometimes just say no to federal grants.

$7.7B for an SMR that produces 300 or so MW is not a good ROI. I'd rather see CCUS slapped on new gas facilities and that money invested in solar/batteries.

Has anyone heard anything about the city's RFP to redevelop the GM plant on Winnipeg St? That proposal went out last Fall and I thought the results were supposed to go public this summer.

Lots of concrete floor deck pieces delivered for the distillery (also removed some facade from that side of the building). To lift some interior roof beams into place they cut holes in the roof to lift them from outside the building. Quite often my photos have people walking or biking up to the offsale there. Excavation work picked up at the aquatic centre this week. Most of the 5th floor ICF blocks stacked at Toronto & 15th. Bypass repair is down to the finishing touches, paving done, bridge painted, grass seeded, some of the concrete barriers removed from the NB side. Coopertown phase 2 underway. I saw them installing natural gas pipe yesterday in phase 1. Also a delivery of trees that they are storing in that old farmhouse lot near 9th N & Fairway.

When I went past Rosewood they had scraped the top soil out of the original storm water pond. There was a bunch of concrete storm water pipe there as well. So they are going to redirect the inflow so they can fill it in. The dirt to fill it in has been piled beside it for about a year.

Have you been by the North Albert/Ring Road overpass lately? Is it open yet?

They opened a north bound lane day after I was last there a little under 2 weeks ago. Westbound cloverleaf still closed. City site says all restrictions should be removed by October 16.

The city stopped posting service notices / road closures on their site a few months ago, quite annoying.

Thanks. Yeah the city road report is a joke.

There was an open house for the Glen Elm trailer part redevelopment. Supposed to be a combo of townhouses and apartment buildings.

Still 30kph down to one lane each way. They have been paving the median right at 9th Ave N. for days, so of course they need to have the speed at 30kph 2km north of there, even northbound.

Also, I noticed the painting of the repair to the Bypass/11 bridge was complete yesterday, but of course the lanes are still closed and the speed is still 50kph, because why not? The final result is a beam that is identical to the one that failed after a tap from some farm equipment.

Some data centre shots, windier than I was expecting today. Just outside the east berm they are pushing top soil out of the way and dumping piles. Maybe just making room to stockpile dirt. Creating another area with fabric under the base in the NW corner. Half the roof done on the first building.

Got some pictures of the sinkhole repair work in Rochdale Park which required them to drain the lake for the second time in 5 years. I went out to the borrow pit where they had been getting dirt for the data centre. Parts of the cut they made for this year are flooded.

I noticed some of the photos from the data centre yesterday had an odd tint, same issue with half the borrow pit photos. I figured how to fix that with the Darktable Color Correction module. Frequently the drone can get the colour temp too warm / yellow which there is a dedicated software adjustment for. Other colour tints are less common.

2 other permits for the same address so it must be another permit for this one with first floor commercial. 24 million aquatic centre permit in the report too, labeled as an addition. And 5 million for the Westerra Metis project.

A few other shots in this Greens album: https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjCa9eU
