The Basel Paper Mill (also known as Swiss Museum for Paper, Writing and Printing) covers the history of the medieval building and the various types of papermaking and printing over time. Fascinating collection of artifacts and informative exhibits. There are also many participatory activities and demonstrations. Well worth a visit for those interested in printing and industrial heritage.

Thought I had something auto-related! Originally part of Vienna's arsenal precinct this contains for me one of the most impactful automobiles of all time. Quietly sitting under a chandelier is the unassuming Graft & Stift auto that Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie were assassinated in. As a result of what happened in that car and estimated 15 to 22 million people died in World War I.

Yes it was a strange feeling.

On a lighter note, there was a fantastic schnitzel restaurant near the entrance!
