I've been to the Starbucks. Nice layout with chairs and couches. the 2 scooter parking spots in front is strange though

not sure if this was discussed before, but am I understanding correctly that they plan to permanently close Mount Pleasant where it meets mountain road?

Not previously discussed, no.

The Mount Pleaasnt/Mountain Road intersection is heavily congested, and, it is virtually impossible to turn left onto Mountain Road from Mount Pleasant at certain times of the day, but, I fail to see how this move is necessary. What does this mean for access to the Mount Pleasant Plaza? There is also a driveway off of Mount Pleasant leading into the Lounsbury Centre. What will this mean for traffic flow through the Lounsbury Centre parking lot? Won't this just lead to more people talking this shortcut to get to Mountain Road?

I find the documentation confusing. I'm not sure exactly what they are up to. Does anyone have any additional information?

Exactly, I live nearby and watch people cut through the shoppers to use the lights to turn, it's gonna be even more of a nightmare

The city has approved a slight realigning of Mount Pleasant (not a full closure) as it widens a section of Mountain Road to improve traffic flow to Hildegard Drive.

This was discussed at council Monday here and here.

The expansion will be to the back of the building.

This expansion is apparently for a permanent Christmas shop. Wheaton's has a substantial seasonal Christmas display every year, but this means replacing a large portion of their furniture displays for several months which must be a pain in the 🞵🞵🞵. The expansion of the store will prevent this disruption in the future.

The foundation for the first of the three Riverbank Residences at 123 Salisbury Road has been installed.

Construction is ongoing.

There was some heavy machinery being dropped off this morning on the corner of Bulman Dr and Mountain Rd this morning. I recall there being a planned 2x4 floor development there.

Update; they’re now gone.

Foundation work for the first of the five apartment buildings at the Corey Craig Drive residential development next to Casino NB at Magnetic Hill is now well advanced.

CG Group replied to a post on Retail Talk NB with this:

So, now we have a timeline for the Corey Craig development.

They are in the process of doubling the westbound off ramp from the TCH to Mountain Road at Magnetic Hill. This will ease the worsening congestion issues at this busy interchange.
