I think SAT leadership would do everything they could to discourage this from happening honestly. I wouldn't be surprised if there was even a clause in the airlines contracts that specifically state they are not to have directs to Austin. What do I know though?! I honestly think it could be a positive thing and could bring more folks to fly out of SAT thereby giving the airlines more insight on where future profitable directs would be out of SAT. The current state of the Austin airport though is not one that I believe could handle anymore connecting traffic. This would have to wait until their new Concourse B is completed which wont be until 2030 or 2031.

Don’t forget about a nonstop to Portland Oregon from SA.

Thanks, it was super hard to adjust the lighting. Flying out late afternoon is tough shooting toward the new terminal, but it really looks good. The metal curtain wall is very nice looking and almost has a "yummy" look to it. Very caramelly. I attempted to get shots of the curbside, but the pics weren't even worth posting... but I can tell you this is really going to be a beautifully dramatic space with the wood ceilings. I'm back again in a couple weeks, will do my best to get some better shots.

Everyone should be on the look out.. there are some really big things about to happen at SAT...

Hah! Sorry, I couldn’t help myself. I’ll just say this… the new terminal will have some dazzling new service. I will stop there.

BTW.... Corgan is posting some absolutely stunning pictures of the interior of the new Terminal and concourse on their Insta...

Starting to see why Southwest was deadset on having some of their operations in the new terminal now. WOW.

I saw those photos too, absolutely stunning. Not sure how the terminal a and b refreshes will even get close to that. Wish they were a rebuild.

The outdoor viewing terrace is quite a bit bigger than I thought it was going to be. Definitely going to be a great pre-flight spot to hang and plane spot, especially when the weather cools off.

Informative article in the express news today on the lounges. They mention United is looking at upgrading their current lounge as well. The third space is available and it’s mentioned that capital one or southwest could be possible tenants.

“ Delta and American Airlines have each committed to spending an estimated $30 million to $40 million to build out their club lounges in Terminal C: an 11,000 square-foot Sky Club, and 10,000 square-foot American Airlines Admirals Club, Flores said. They will each pay an estimated $2.4 million a year to lease the spaces, she said.

Terminal C will feature a total of 29,000 square feet of club lounge space. The third space has not yet been reserved; the airport is exploring opportunities with other carriers, Flores said.”

Another nugget, admirals lounge will have its own entry to the jet bridge:

“One of them, for Delta Airlines' Sky Club, will feature its own entry to a jet bridge, allowing club members to board certain flights without hustling to the gate. The airline introduced the concept in 2022 at its lounge in Chicago O’Hare International Airport, with an exclusive gate area behind the wine bar.”

Already plenty of flights to LAX. We sure could use a NS to Portland Oregon.

Just curious...is this a new route for Delta or are they adding additional flights?
