Where is the developer-promised community centre in Vancouver’s River District?

As several Vancouver neighbourhoods look forward to upgraded public spaces, families living in the River District are left wondering when construction will finally begin on a long-awaited community centre that was supposed to open last year....
...Among these long-promised amenities is the River District Community Centre, , a facility designed and advertised to feature an amphitheatre, significant child-care designated spaces, a public plaza, athletic spaces, and more.
Speaking to CTV News, people living in the area expressed frustration at seeing the project’s targeted 2025 completion date blow by—replaced by a vague 2027 goalpost without locals seeing a shovel in the ground...
...The developer said it continues working with city staff to find ways to close the funding gap, noting that delivering the community centre “relies on maintaining viable projects and continued development at River District, as this activity generates the funding needed to support its construction.”
“We remain committed to delivering this important community amenity. To date, over $3 million has been invested, and the project has advanced through a detailed design process and the urban design panel.”..

Relying on Wesgroup to build public amenities was such a stupid play that we all knew it would not happen. Truth be told, there's three schools in the vicinity at 75% capacity and Metrotown and the Marine Way market are a 10 minute drive away so there's really no incentive for the COV to take any action here. It's just the way things go in the region. Developer shows big time project with assurances there will be an integrated community with lots of amenities. Developer builds said project without amenities. Buyers cry foul and demand the various municipalities build infrastructure.
This is probably my least favorite area in the entirety of the COV though. Far and away from any rapid transit network. On the periphery, a very busy 6 lane arterial with crazy drivers that speed along with lights that easily mistime and take forever to change. Inside, a total lack of parking as they designed the area to resemble a city which is problematic given the lack of transit connectivity.
