Ottawa and Montreal seem like the most likely options to me given London used to have flights to both and Air Canada never brought them back as the Jazz fleet reduced in size. Speculation to that since Porter and Air Transat have a partnership that Porter might do some of the winter sun routes for Transat
YOW makes more sense to me than YHU. Depending on timing and frequency, there are lots of potential Porter connections out of YOW. I wonder if this means YOW-YKF is unlikely in the foreseeable future?

Porter service from London would be the best news London airport has had in a long time! Hope it’s true.

This page shows Cancun and Punta Cana as destinations. The Transat website still shows those destinations as being served by AirTransat A321 aircraft, so I'm not sure if Porter will be adding these on their own or if it will still be part of their Transat vacations partnership. Kind of anti climactic though if this is all Porter is going to be doing from here.

True would be disappointing if that is all, but its still a step in the right direction they are even operating out of London. Would hope that add at least one domestic route

True to form, when I flew into London a few weeks ago, my bags didn't make it. This happens at least 50% of the time, and is one of the reasons why I now usually just drive to Pearson.

That 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵, I had previously had great luck flying London - Pearson however the last 2 times my flight has been cancelled which then made me spend close to an hour on the phone telling them to not reschedule my Toronto connection while rushing to Pearson to avoid missing my next flight.

It's a shame because that 5:10am London to Toronto flight is great, you show up 30 minutes before and walk on. Beats having to stay in Toronto overnight and or driving at 3-4am to Pearson.

Tactical training to start in North Bay in a few weeks.

For more than 25 years, ITPS Canada has delivered aviation training to pilots and military personnel from more than 29 air arms worldwide and as global demand for tactical aviation training continues to grow, the school said ITTC is now positioned to provide NATO and allied air forces with a flexible, responsive and operationally focused training solution delivered in the skies over Canada. While ITPS Canada remains a leader in flight test training in London, Ont., the strategic move to relocate ITTC to North Bay allows the division to scale its existing tactical training capacity to meet growing demand from allied nations, enhancing Canadian sovereign capability.

The story behind this ITPS move of tactical training to North Bay took a turn for the worse in light of a near miss incident in London that is still being investigated.

I just saw an ad on Youtube advertising Porter Airlines now flying from London, Ontario. I did not catch all the destinations but Montego Bay and Orlando were both included. I cannot find any information on Porter's website so not sure if these ads were ahead of a formal announcement?

It is interesting that they say London Airport has a catchment area of 2 million people. I am not sure how they come up with that figure but I guess London Airport would be closer than Hamilton Airport for Sarnia, Woodstock, Chatham, Exeter, St. Thomas, Tillsonburg, Strathroy, Goderich, etc.

I think a catchment area is just marketing so there is no reason why they can't overlap with other airports. I'm sure Woodstock gets counted in all 3 larger local airports when marketing to the airlines.

So let's take a guess at what the domestic routes will be next year. I'm tossing out Ottawa, Halifax, and Vancouver as for sures with possibly Edmonton and Montreal.

London to Ottawa has a long history as a route dating back the old Great Lakes Air and Air Ontario days. Montreal and Halifax could have a chance.

Ottawa and Montreal direct would be fantastic, more so Montreal as it gives people another connection option as opposed to Pearson only in addition to standard fares in/out.

I'd love to see a direct route to Montreal. There was one about a decade ago.

My guess is with the Toronto Island Airport expansion getting pretty much cancelled- and Pearson being overcapacity with some of the highest landing fees in the world, Porter was looking for a new location nearby to expand.

My folks have a flight booked on Porter out of Toronto. It's one of the destinations being served by London now and my dad managed to call them yesterday and rebook the flight out of here. Done at no extra charge. That's pretty cool customer service

They do have good customer service. Regarding redirecting traffic due to the rejection of Billy Bishop, I had seen Porter running ads on these exact locations from London before the Feds rejected the expansion of Billy Bishop. Also the representative from Porter had said the London expansion was years in the making.
