Yeah. I haven’t seen the courtyards in real life, but the above picture gave me the impression that they were trying to turn the courtyards into narrow walkways.
No pictures sorry, but I'm not a fan of what they did with Clarendon Lane. The benches are very modern and lack backing. Old traditional benches were far more appropriate for the courtyard. More than that, the planters are far too large, taking up a lot of prime real-estate. With the patios, there's little room to circulate (nothing against the patios, again, it's the planters that are too big). Tree trunks also seemed buried more than they should be, which can be bad for the tree.
One of the very few NCC projects I dislike.
The footprint of the planters has not changed, has it?
It looks like they extend another foot or two out from the trees, and the space behind is obviously gone in some areas.
The section on the other side of the arches is what's worse. There are four restaurant patios that already take up a lot of space plus the oversized planter.
