If it's true that the Bisons will be playing on the current field dimensions it's still going to be easier than what the field crew had to do to accommodate Valour. Much less games to chamgeover set up. The field crew had to scrub every single line off and repaint between soccer and football games. They'll still need to move the field goal posts but they don't need to remove them from the field and bring in soccer nets and change the sideline set up.

There is obviously unity with all the clubs on this and growth in revenue and IMO they would not have got the DAZN interest and TSN having to step up to get the big increase in TV money. The bigger salary cap is going to lead to better quality players coming or staying with the CFL and you can make an expansion team work with an 15-18K stadium so hopefully we see a team in Quebec City soon and then maybe 12 (Halifax and London?)

I also would not be surprised if there is not an "on field" social area in at least one of the endzone with standing tables, etc. No only here but in other stadiums too.
The changes are not going to work, and it will be the beginning of the end for the CFL. This is the last true year for the league. Next year, it will no longer be the CFL. It will be a Canadian "players who were not good enough for the NFL."

I did not renew my season tickets, and I will never buy anything from the CFL, unless they reverse these catastrophic changes.

I also know a few peope who will not renew season tickets or purchase tickets for games next year. There will likely be a fairly substantial drop in attendance next year league-wide. If this NFL-wannabe commissionner doesn’t do the right thing and scrap the changes, he will be known as the man who destroyed the CFL for good.

So you only watched he CFL for to see a 55 yard line and Posts on the Goal line for the occasional missed FG return? There have been 7 missed FG TD's in the last 5 years in 405 games) We still have 3 downs, 12 men, 1 yard off the line, waggle, unlimited motion, 5 yard halo on punts, 1 foot inbounds, rouge (yes its still there) AND a massive increase in TV money coming which means a high cap and better paid and better quality players

Why not with pervious changes like moving the hash marks, 25 to 20 yard endzones, H posts to Y posts, or if you go way back, the forward pass. These all happened after the NFL changed them. So if you are not going to the Bombers, are you getting Bisons Season's?

All 9 owners voted for this and hired the Commish. Why is no one "blaming them" He was hired to move the needle on CFL revenue and get the best TV contract, which is happening.

All league evolve. Look at the NHL vs 25 years ago. 3v3 OT Rules / Shootout, No Red Line, Trapezoid, Hybrid icing, Puck over the glass Delay of game, etc. Big changes that some didn't like at first but it has not hurt the game, it has help it grow, get bigger TV contracts, sponsors and more teams

The NHL also used to have 7 players on the ice, 3 on ice officials and a player called a rover.

The NFL has also made some sweeping changes to it's rules over the past few years. So has the MLB. I don't follow basketball but I would bet my lunch they have made changes too. The games we love evolve. I'll admit I don't like a lot of the changes being made but it's not going to impact my support for the game. I don't understand how people can stop supporting the CFL but continue to support the NHL after all the americanizing that has happened over the last few decades.

Usports and sports at the local level can't really afford anything let alone spending millions of dollars across the country changing field dimensions (new turf), uprooting field goal posts, possibly realigning the stands to accommodate these changes. They were never going to go along with these changes.

TBH. I find the game more entertaining with less players. 4 on 4 is better, IMO, However, when they introduced 3 on 3 for OT in 2013, it was a treat to watch the game. We all know the NHLPA would never agree to reduce the number of players on the ice though.

Not sure if you mean 7 players on each team, or 7 players total (which would give a team a one-player advantage). Regardless, that has probably not occurred for 100 years.

It was a horrible move by the corporate rulers of the CFL in Toronto to not consult the amateur football league or the University football. It goes to show you that they are selfish pricks.

You are acting like every single change pro leagues make is for the better. How did the American expansion work out, or the FOX glowing puck?

The only thing I would have changed about the game, would be to not award a rouge to a team, if the kick sails through the end zone. I always thought a rouge should only be given if the ball lands in play, even if the momentum carries the ball to the back of the end zone. Other than that, the game is more exciting than the NFL, and these changes will be a disaster.

I was at the game, and it was certainly no Classic for the first 3 quarters. Then things got spicy in the 4th and OT, turning it into another great LDC game.

Lots of Bomber fans in attendance and everything seemed pretty chill between the fans of each team. Looking forward to seeing a Banjo Bowl that can keep up the excitement (at least late game) from this one.

Sometime 🞵🞵🞵🞵 doesn't work, but that doesn't mean we can try to evolve and change the game for the better. As much as American expansion was mostly a disaster, it gave the CFL an injection of capital it needed to survive at the time, gave us Baltimore which lead to the revival of the Alouettes and some players that after the US teams folded came up here and strengthen the player pool.
Foxtrax was hilarious, but did lead other US networks to have interest in the NHL
If the changes are a disaster, they can always change back. I don't think they will be. DAZN has already gone out an hired Chris Streveler for the booth, he will do both CFL and NFL content so he may help bridge some 'football' fans to watch the CFL and he has a a YouTube show (See it like Strevy) that DAZN is turning into a weekly show, this is going to get eyeballs on the league, which was the point all along

It did from the standpoint of ABC /ESPN executives, said 🞵🞵🞵 and they got the NHL rights 2 years later

Hard truth is the smaller CFL field means there is a lot of money on the table for the Bombers to renovated the north end zone to fully take advantage of the extra Rum Hut space. It may be enough incentive to spur a renovation to the old University Stadium to move the Bisons out if USports doesn't get on board with the changes to the field size.
