This one on Lorne St is back in front of council as a purpose built rental.

Agreed. Blue green might be slowly understanding what architectural style is. They usually just build a depressing box cladded with hardie panels and call it a day. This looks like they at least tried to go after a mid-century modern building, and they didn't do a terrible job. It's crazy what a cohesive architectural style can do, haha.

Bigger pic

According to a report being presented to Kamloops council Tuesday (Sept. 1), the owner of 640 Lorne St. had a development permit approved for a new six-storey, mixed-use building featuring 22 studio, 54 one-bedroom and 22 two-bedroom units. The proposal also features commercial space, an attached outdoor patio for residents, 103 parking spaces and 116 bicycle spaces.

The City of Kamloops notes that off-site improvements along Lorne Street – such as sidewalk bump-outs with street trees, paver band on the sidewalk and decorative street lighting to match existing lighting on Lorne Street – will occur at the building permit stage.

Looks okay...

Would be nice if they had put some thought into the design.
This is an arena that my son played in last year in Mcall Idaho ( who he played hockey for ) .

They have hanging caldrons they light that hang under the beams.
A beautiful area that seats 700 people MAYBE.

We get Costco .

Here's some render of the interior of the Duffern multi plex

Sahali residents opposed to ALR removal plan head to Tuesday hearing

Ridiculous that the neighbor hood, who has no ownership in this land can potentially tell the owner They cant develop this because we like the way it looks. Shut up and pay your taxes. Even as professional reports provided by the property owner deem the site at 2105 Tremerton Drive as “not productive agricultural land” with “limited” irrigation water availability.

What else are they supposed to do?

Weve got way to many NIMBYS in our city. Look what just happen in Rose Hill and Juniper? Fantastic land, taken and turned into a park.

It appears that council voted 8 - 1 to move it forwards and assist with the removal of this property being pulled from the ALR. Guess who voted against it? Our idiot mayor.

This has been the plan since all these NIMBYS houses were just getting built. There's no way this isn't happening. All the water reservoirs, streets, sewer lines, etc have been built with the intention of this chunk of land being developed. Crazy how predictable people are though. Acting like this land is some treasure that can't be replicated is just stupid. They need to just turn a little to the left and you'll see the same untouched terrain for km's. These people are just the worst.

Amazingly enough it actually failed the to be approved by city council 3 times prior to this. Just gores to show we don't need people like " the Hammer " involved in making choices for the city any longer. He just votes against the council know matter what it is at this point and picks stupid causes to align him self with that are supported by his weird base of crazy senior citizen supporters.

I see the Nissan dealer finally got his way and has now purchased every plot on the island between the highway, the frontage road and River road. Took less than a month to strip it and demolish it.

Slimebag. I have a co-worker who worked at his parts desk and the manager is a total shyster. The last resident on the block refused to take his offers and supposedly someone else came in, bought the property and then turned around and handed it to the manager. Par for the course.
