Whether this or something else, that area is going to explode sooner than later. There are too many things happening along 130 north and south of there - and obviously the Tesla and SpaceX proximity alone has a massive influence whether Elon is involved or not.

Everything about this screams "Vision". The name, the size, the renderings. Elon did buy a lot of land around Tesla but not this much and not this far out. Any huge land grabs like this would grab a lot of attention and thats not there. The Austin/San Marcos name? This is no where near San Marcos. Maybe if it had Manor, Elgin or Bastrop in the name. The San Fransico like roads are pure sci-fi.

The only large blocks of land that I recall out that way are owned by Tito Beveridge, 13K acres, and Musk around 2K in Bastrop and that was nearly 2 years ago.

SpaceX seems to be building quite a bit out that way. I don't believe Beveridge has done anything with his acerage.

San Marcos was probably mentioned because the Metro's name is the Austin-Round Rock-San Marcos MSA. Including Round Rock especially in this case, would have made more sense.

I looked up property ownership on TravisCAD for a bunch of these parcels and there’s not a single name that pops up more than once and nobody of note. Didn’t see Tito or Elon.

I would retract my statement and agree with yall that it’s just a vision, except for the fact that the firm involved seems to have a successful list of actual development on their website and the fact that their client is listed as a public authority. Ain’t no way this is a vision if a public authority is having a quasi-zoning plan put together. Each individual building may be a stand-in for eventual design, sure, and totally unrealistic, but if land is zoned for a certain type of structure… eventually that’ll be what will gets built on that land.
