Mine was a triple bypass after a stroke. Word to the wise: don't wait for your doctors to order all of the tests. After six months with almost no progress in determining the cause of my stroke, I requested a CT or MRI of my heart. After obtaining an approval (took way longer than it should have - I forget the name of the procedure, but they basically had to slow down my heart in order to take several thousand image slices of my heart in a very short amount of time), the test results showed that I had major blockages in three of my coronary arteries and probably would not have survived my first heart attack, which appears to have been right around the corner. Get those tests now, while you can!
Oh, and I agree - open heart surgery sucks. Maybe not as badly as a killer heart attack, but still...
