Where are they putting all this dirty they are removing from sites like the convention center, IH35 expansion and other digs? Dogshead would benefit from infill dirt.

I agree. Certain activists seem to have a throw shit at the wall, and see if anything sticks mentality in regards to filing lawsuits. This same loser just lost another lawsuit down in Hays County where he was trying to overturn their road bond that voters approved.

Wouldn't be shocked if some finds it's way to Giga Texas. The entire site is pretty much built on a reclaimed sand and gravel mine.

It's a good article and shows the breakdown of the floor spaces. The design has a uniquely Austin vibe to it. I'm still struggling to describe it, but I think it's appropriate for Austin. At over an unbelievably one billion dollars, this CC is going to look bigger... er, better on the inside. I had major heart surgery last October so I'm hoping to be around when it opens. As well as the ABIA expansion. As well as the second supertall.

Good luck to both of you - I had the major heart surgery in May and am planning to be around for a bit longer, myself. See you guys at the opening of the new NFL stadium sometime in the next couple of decades!

Thanks guys. I had a quad bypass after two heart attacks. Open heart surgery sucks. But like with you guys, I'm hoping it bought me some time. I don't think I will see the CC in person, but I have family in NY so I might see the new and improved ABIA. Rustic Hill Country is what the CC reminds me of. Unlike the stone fortress that was the former. I wonder if any of the old building materials were saved to be recycled.

Mine was a triple bypass after a stroke. Word to the wise: don't wait for your doctors to order all of the tests. After six months with almost no progress in determining the cause of my stroke, I requested a CT or MRI of my heart. After obtaining an approval (took way longer than it should have - I forget the name of the procedure, but they basically had to slow down my heart in order to take several thousand image slices of my heart in a very short amount of time), the test results showed that I had major blockages in three of my coronary arteries and probably would not have survived my first heart attack, which appears to have been right around the corner. Get those tests now, while you can!

Oh, and I agree - open heart surgery sucks. Maybe not as badly as a killer heart attack, but still...

I bet the new design is for better led lighting effects at night. The brown paneling might not have worked well for that.
