The leaked audio from the now let go Apollo chung is wild, basically saying he doesn't care about the province and just wants to make money and steal from the populace.

My guess though is he got let go for saying the quiet part out loud and getting caught, not for saying it.

The way I see it if the Western Standard is publishing articles that could be damaging to the BC Conservative party then you know it's serious. It's like if Trump does something bad enough for Joe Rogan to have to admit it.

And it's pretty bad. Not sure if it's completely damning to the party but having a guy like this on the payroll doesn't bode well.

I mean, I don't think it's off-limits to note that Chung worked as an NDP MLA staffer a while back (or so I read?), but the gymnastics the political bloc at large needs to go through to avoid looking in a mirror......

The MLA for Abbotsford-Mission has resigned, so the slim NDP majority is pretty secure, even if all the 31 Conservatives and the 11 Independents and both Greens all agreed to vote together.

Considering the riding I assume the NDP will want to run a byelection as soon as possible. It should still be an NDP landslide but we'll get some real data on the political momentum in the province. There isn't much time for a centrist party to form but we'll see I suppose.

I think the reference was to the Strathcona riding, where Joan Phillip just died. She won the seat in the last election with 67.6% of the vote. As she had been seriously ill for some months, presumably the NDP will have a plan for the upcoming by-election, but no date has been announced yet.

The Abbotsford-Mission seat became vacant on 22 August when Reann Gasper resigned so that Kerry-Lynne Findlay can try to get elected. The September 26 date is apparently too soon for an alternate centre right party to be formed, and a candidate selected. The NDP candidate is the previous MLA from 2020 to 2024, Pam Alexis. The Conservatives may be pushed to get their candidate known to the electorate in only 4 weeks, and the NDP have no doubt already got their organization and supporters lined up for the campaign, so it may be an interesting outcome.

I seriously considered making the huge move to Florida but I am way too tied down here that it just isn't feasible anymore for me, I am stuck here going down with the proverbial ship
