I've been out to the Lake Erie islands several times, but not since I was a teenager. From what I recall, you can't see the mainland or the islands while you're on the ferry. From the top of the Perry Monument, you can barely see the coastlines.

2. Touched? (dipping your hand or foot in) 4 - originally was going to say 5 but realized I haven't touched Erie. The only times I've been on the shore was in winter!

4. Been on a boat in? 1: Ontario, multiple booze cruises off the Toronto Harbour
5. Visited an island in? 1: Ontario, the Toronto islands
6. Encircled? (drove completely around, even if not in one trip) 0

8. Scuba dived in? (with gear, not just swimming around with a snorkel or underwater holding your breath) 0 - I am certified and have dived in many places but not the Great Lakes. I should look into it! I did my original certification in a glacial lake in Alberta so can't be colder than that

1. Seen? 4. Haven't seen Lake Huron, just Georgian Bay!
2. Touched? touched Erie, Ontario and Superior
3. Swam in? Lake Ontario and Lake Erie

4. Been on a boat in? Lake Ontario - ferry and boat. Lake Erie: A friend of a friend in Buffalo had the most powerful motors of a boat I've ever been on. Twin Volvo 375hp engines. He had a sweet waterfront condo he bought when prices were much cheaper and got a deal on the boat that an old guy could no longer keep up

5. Visited an island in? Lake Ontario, the Toronto islands
6. Encircled? No, but I want to do the Lake Superior Circle route one day.

7. Been on a boat that traveled so far from the coastline that you couldn't see it? No, but can see that happening on Lake Superior!
