The Nest [120 Den Haag Dr] | up to 30m | 5+8f | U/C

Groupe Sovima is proposing the construction of an 8 storey mixed use rental building with underground parking at 800 Montreal Road\120 Den Haag Drive, with it’s primary façade and building access directed towards Montreal Road. The proposed office-commercial space will be occupying the corner of the building at Montreal Road and Den Haag with the entrance located off Montreal Road.

The proposed building is intended to accommodate 126 residential rental units as well as 274.06m2 for commercial space consisting of 143.44 m2 on the ground floor and 130.62 m2 on the 2nd floor. The proposal also calls for the construction of a single level underground parking garage which will eventually be extended to serve the phase 2 lands. Access to the garage is proposed to be located on the south side of the building off Den Haag Drive as shown on the site plan. The parking garage is intended to accommodate 78 spaces.

The easterly portion of the subject property is envisaged to accommodate a 4 storey building but is not part of this application.

Note: This appears to be the final project in the Canada Lands Company disposition and redevelopment of 800 Montreal Road:

Other than the needless "landscaped buffer strip" between the building and the sidewalk along Den Haag, that is. What a chain yank.

Oh well, something to expropriate as ROW in 223 years when there's finally LRT on Montreal Road.

Elevation drawing doesn't quite match the previous renderings.

Original renderings where quite nice.

This is one I really hope to see go up on Montreal. Quite a nice design. Can't go wrong with red brick and a (partially) glassed in top floor.

I saw this afternoon that the crane is up.

The banner reads "Coming Fall 2027. The Nest Ottawa." That's pretty ambitious, isn't it?

An English name in a very Francophone area... from a Québec-based company? Seems like a big miss.
