I drove up Main for the first time in a while and was surprised to see the Marvin site at 19th no longer has the “heritage” brick facade that had been propped up for years. Did they have to get city permission to demolish it?

There was a flood into the pit, supposedly from a broken water line, that compromised the foundation of the propped up facade. Assuming they managed to salvage the bricks they should be able to reconstruct with the end result similar to the planned retention.

220 Prior, by the new St Paul's, is now pretty much complete. It's no longer called 'Nexus', but has been renamed 'Forma', and is being marketed for lease, rather than for sale as strata units.

Looks like it's still RBI Group/PHI Hotel but shorter than the building grades which was 36 stories

I am confused by what SRO they are referring to at 109 E Hastings, perhaps it's a misprint and they're referring to the Balmoral at 159 E Hastings.

I assume they are moving whatever SRO units they have on the Main St site? There are building grades from Arno Matis' office for that replacement

Not really an area I'd be encouraging tourists to stay in either without any plan to clean it up. If the old site is any indicator, the St Pauls will draw more disorder to it, not help banish it.

not to mention wondering what the new development on the corner of Davie and Burrard will bring to the neighborhood, it feels like the goal is to make that area a centre for "social" stuff, I feel bad for the people that bought homes in that area when it seemed like it was a lot nicer, now the hardware store a block up Davie has almost everything locked behind cages due to the "shoppers" from the Murray etc
