I don't beleive it would take 5-7 years to build a 39 story building it took less than 1 year & half for the Arthur to top out @ 26 stories , going out 5-7 years of construction sounds absolutly unfeasable for one , I'm thinking something like from start to finish 28 months to top out , fact JP Morgan's new World hdqtrs took 6 years to build @ 60 stories 1,388' 2.5 million sq.ft. all electric with up to 10 thousand employees , just a fun fact !

It's easy to mix up dates about construction projects, especially when a reporter is interpreting what they're told. The reporting process doesn't help, as there's very little QC or confirmation in the process. For starters the 5-7 might start from today.

Also, completion dates from a developer perspective can be a lot of varying things. First move-in, stabilization (when they're around the market vacancy rate), last move-in (often two years later), finaling the building permit(s) including the ones they use during the lease-up process...

When does development usually pick up again? Fall maybe? Or is this the prime time to build? And if so, why does it feel like the companies are hesitating?

I saw this on Reddit the other day. I have no idea about its validity, who posted it, or what information they have, but I thought it was interesting nevertheless.

I thought that this has been the case for a couple months now, that they just have to submit the DR?

Either way, this is still a huge development for the area, considering that the red lion is the tallest thing in that whole area, and that is way closer to the main CBD and is likely around 1/3 to 1/2 of the height. Super excited to see how this turns out, and I’m really hoping it goes through because this will be front and center coming to downtown from the connector, and having a pretty tall building like this will really help the skyline to widen out a little more as we progress upwards with 11th and front.
