The structure is now mostly completed for the new Pathogen Research Centre (PaRC) building at Western Research Park. The exterior shell is getting the steel framing installed now and they have already installed large roof top mechanical HVAC units on the one story south section. I would expect the labs will have some unique structural engineering to create negative pressure air tight rooms to prevent any leakage or contamination.

yeah, I know some of those researchers who have had their samples destroyed.

Yeah makes no sense how this could happen in a lab environment. Critical refrigerator/freezers and their control equipment would be plugged into the backup diesel generators so even with a power loss you wouldn't lose anything. Something is not right here and corners have been cut or policies not followed.
