This is a very handsome building, and that area is absolutely buzzing during the day. I wonder where CHOP goes after this? Yes, Schuykill Avenue...but do they start building taller buildings at the Pennovation Complex in Grays Ferry?

I was always surprised they didn't go taller for both Schuykill Ave buildings. Space is so limited and that's a way better location than trying to expand at Pennovation. There's 2 lots across Schuykill ave too that I'm shocked they didn't buy. What's the latest with the former USciences campus?

Are there plans for CHOP to build at Pennovation? I've always understood Pennovation to be purely a Penn project, and while CHOP has affiliations with Penn Medicine, it's not part of Penn.

I agree, especially when you consider the complexity of the foundations - multi-level, multi-story, wedged between streets, railroad tracks and bridges. With all the engineering and effort down below, it feels like throwing 5-10 more stories on the top is the easy cost effective thing to do.

CHOP bought and demolished the old Medical Examiners office at 501 University Ave across from the VA. They dont have plans for it yet but could fit something substantial with a 2.3 acre (100,000 sqft) lot
