There is some existing 40 storey zoning and there are at least 2 projects under construction up to that height, Little Brooklyn on the Dartmouth side (near the bridge approach), and WAY on the Halifax side. There are maybe a dozen 30+ under construction.
I am not sure what the heights in meters are. Maybe in the 120 m range. Somebody was saying that they have moved away from height limits in these areas, perhaps in part because developers were packing a lot of low floors in under the old height limits.
There is a new proposal going up to 52 floors in the Young St area. This growth node will probably get the tallest approved buildings. This gives some details:
