Have started installing the 8th floor precast concrete floor slabs on the north end while they are nearly done forming and pouring the 7th floor walls and posts on the south end.

Have around 40% of the 9th floor concrete floor slabs installed on this 15s building. Probably see forming for the 9th floor walls and posts started by end of next week.

Already have about 50% of the 9th floor walls and posts formed or poured on the north end.

Almost done forming and pouring the 9th floor walls and posts. Should see the 10th floor precast concrete floor slabs being installed this week. Have some window units now installed up to the 4th floor level. Have also installed the exterior construction elevator on the west side. It's odd they haven't relocated the wood utility poles running thru the middle of the parking area along the west side yet.

will these buildings be run by Medallion? Seems like there are always problems with buildings run by Medallion.

No these are a joint partnership between Southside Group Developments and a developer from western Canada called ParkIT and Decade Capital. Southside is expanding into being a residential landlord in addition to being a general contractor for others and commercial/retail plaza developer. They have a zoning application for a 14s apartment on Southdale Rd west of Wellington on their horizon.

This first building will likely be renting by next summer ahead of the new school year. Will be interesting to see what the mix of units looks like and the price point. Could see Studio, 1B, 2B and 3B units in this first of two buildings.

Hopefully the experience they gain from these larger residential buildings will help them eventually build a high rise downtown on King St where the old building is rotting away sometime next decade.

Have started forming the 10th floor walls and posts after finishing the install of the 10th floor precast concrete floor slabs.
