I thought they often get foundation permits and then the overall building permit later. The guy from Hipperson made it seem like they were being held up waiting for the permit and they are ready to stand a lot of steel in a hurry once they get it.
A bit over 1/3 of the rear Costco sheeting up. Expanding the parking lot work, and trench cable for the lighting. Paving started on part of Wasacase Blvd in Westerra today.
Put the stairs and landings in the precase concrete box they assembled at the distillery. In one of the photos I noticed another concrete panel on a trailer in the background.
Second floor of the CBS building gutted. I figure at least a day of cleanup before they start knocking the building down. The north side of the building looks like it used precast structural components however long ago it was built.
I went past the GTH, even around 8 pm there will still trucks coming and going delivering canola to the crushing plant. I think the UFA gets a lot of business as a result of the plant.
The "used" Neo arrived today. The box had been opened but I don't think it had ever been turned on. The accessories box was sealed and battery was still in the shipping inactive mode requiring it to be plugged into a charger to activate.
Turns out it had been used. Its bound to the account of the original owner meaning its totally useless and I have to send it back.

Regina remains Canada's most affordable major city to buy a home despite rising prices and rapid population growth.
Regina approved more new housing units in 2025 than any of the previous four years as rapid population growth drives demand for a wider mix of homes, a new city report shows.
Building permits were issued for 1,674 new units last year, according to the city’s 2026 Growth Monitoring Report. It was closer to 1,400 in each of the previous two years after issuing a little over 800 apiece in 2022 and 2021.
About half the back of the Costco covered. Some curb work in the parking lot along the edge and some of the row end medians. Wall panels going up on the north side, interior wall separating the backup generator bay from the warehouse. Looks like they poured the short concrete wall there too. Prepping last of the foundation work near the entrance.
Put the front panels on the stairwell at the distillery. The balcony is also precast concrete and was installed today. More steel layout to install tomorrow.
Scraped the roof off the south side of the demolition project. Debris pushed out of the second floor yet to be sorted and hauled off.
Construction zone added on Pinkie Road today at the new sewage lift station location but no equipment yet. Probably going to do some pre-construction work. ie: adding an entrance to the site which will require a culvert in the ditch, removing top soil.

More steel went up on the first building since I was there Friday. Starting to preassemble steel sections for the second building. First foundation pour of the 3rd building tonight.
Late start this evening, was going to check out the bypass bridge after stopping by the demo project but figured it would be too dark by the time I got out there so I checked out a few other things while heading north. Working on the last bit of foundation for the Costco.
I didn't notice any work at the distillery, but they did move the crane. The crane's trailer is hooked up to it, so maybe they are switching to a cheaper crane since they don't have to lift any more concrete panels.
Still more cleanup work to do at the demo project, might be next week before I have to head over during the day to catch some action. Assembling the McDonalds roof on the ground while they made big trenches around the building to install storm drains. Took a few pictures of the Huda school expansion, using lots of screw piles for the foundation, I think it started over a month ago.
Removed all the light poles at the aquatic site including a few outside the fence since the last time I was there.
The old Blood Services Building looks so much bigger now that it's been torn down. Does anyone know the timeline for the full demolition? Is it a finish demolition by Christmas for a spring 2026 new foundation pour? (Can't recall if the new build is a parking basement.)
It wasn't until I was editing the photos that I noticed they just started putting roofing on the Costco. Doesn't look like anything happened at the distillery today so I didn't stop there. At the demo project they ripped the metal garage doors off the standalone garage building. A lot of rebar on the bypass bridge repair section, could get concrete soon. Every time I think they are getting close to finishing Coopertown servicing more pipe gets delivered. Started building an entrance for the NW lift station today, filled in the ditch with dirt, then dug a trench for a culvert. Looks like the rain is missing us, so it looks like I won't get rained out Friday evening.
$6.8 million permit for Grasslands apartment foundation. $110 million permit presumably for the long term care facility, address is for a street not on google maps.
I noticed that the parking lot that is kiddy corner to the SGI head office has been fenced off. At first I thought it was just due to the 11th Ave construction but as I walked by it towards Vic Park I noticed the whole thing has been fenced off and they are dismantling the metal dividers and fences and it is clearly no longer being used for parking. I know there has been low income housing proposed there in the past but not sure if that will ever happen. Anyone know what is going on? This is one lot that desperately needs something built on it as it has been a vacant lot for what seems like forever.

Graham has pulled a $110 million permit for the next phase of the LTC project on Grasslands St. Does anyone know the total cost of this thing or have a final render?
Got rained on briefly between the Costco and CBS building but otherwise a nice evening. Back of Costco done, and roofing started. Luther Highschool has a new front lawn. They cut down old dying trees along Royal Street, landscaped, leveled the yard and put in new sod today. No exterior work at the distillery and the crane was gone.
They knocked down the garage behind the Blood Services building today and removed some debris. I talked ot the guys putting the fence back and they said they should start knocking down the structure next week. I'll have to charge up all 5 batteries and head over during the day. They're definitely interested in seeing the photos / videos. I've got blank sheets of printer business cards, I should print a few with flickr url + QR code.
Streetlights up along the Arens Road extension, but not open yet. A few small sections of sidewalk not complete. Project started at an empty parcel at 3631 Gee Crescent. It was rezoned from Residential Highrise to Residential Neighbourhood (single / duplex). Zoning application didn't have any photos and no permits yet. Might be a condo development like a few others in the area. Good lighting for photos of the firehall, the light was pretty bad last time I was there. The vehicle part of the firehall side of the building has block exterior walls.
I don't like the renders at all. Any downtown housing project should be a lot more dense than that.
That housing project is absolutely hideous. Who in the right mind would’ve proved something like that especially right downtown like it really doesn’t make any sense.

Its the one out by Sask Poly. Grasslands is the street it is on, the city should have picked another name for that street to avoid confusion with the Grasslands retail area.

Thank you, it can get kind of confusing
I bet this place is gonna be over $300 million once it’s done it’s a massive facility and it’s so weird that there’s no renders of it
