I doubt very much the hotel component will be branded 'Breka'.

More likely they'll partner with an established Hotelier or brand to run the Hotel component.

Maybe they'll have a Breka cafe-restaurant in the podium working in concert with the hotel services as well as public-facing - and in that way stay more in their lane.

A free continental breakfast would definitely be a drawing card for the hotel.

The Vancouver Sun article about Breka Hotel said they have a hotel chain ready, but they will reveal who they have partnered with at a later time. This area is starting to come together.

If I could choose between the Breka Development hotel and them bringing back their old sandwiches on baguette, I might honestly choose the latter.

Here's how it should have looked

As far as concept/market renderings to finalized constructions go, that's as pretty close as you can get.

You can barely see that many obvious or drastic changes resulting from any value-engineering or design development revisions that occurred between the two.

I just noticed the extra window mullions for operable windows.

..but those suites are probably quite dark inside.

The alley side has more windows:

I tired to avoid that, but right click, save as, didn't save me.

The have applied to increase the home units to 260:
https://www.shapeyourcity.ca/688-w57-ave-ta

At one point it looked like they were going to convert the homes to rentals:
https://www.urbanyvr.com/cambie-gardens-rental/
But it looks like it is back to being strata.

There is also supposed to be ground floor retail.

There's been several revisions to Parcel C, including a site wide rezoning amendment submitted in 2020 that would have allowed for moderate income rental homes.
