for sure, I remember going to get a passport in Surrey in 2002 post 911 but before all the heavy requirements kicked in and you could still travel with just a driver's license and a woman marched in with her 20-year-old son and was quite loud and was asking to the people waiting, my kid is going to Mexico tomorrow how long have you been waiting? will we get the passport by the afternoon? and people were in shock and started to ask her do you have this or that or the pictures etc kind of stuff and she was like don't they do that here? yikes.

So I was watching a video about Rural America and there was a woman who is not Maga but lives in Arkansas and she said there is nothing at all for anyone there, no jobs, the infastructure is horrible, so many things have closed and the closest grocery store for her is a two drive now, she said there was a walmart nearer but its walmart. She said there's so many teenage girls with babies living with their parents, there's no doctors or things and no job prospects yet they all vote Republican and continue to do so and she said flatly its because they are racist and don't want those people to have good lives or live better than they do. Such a crazy mindset.

And one thing she talked about and I never heard of it but the governer Sarah Huckabee used state money to buy $55 million in Israeli bonds and will spend another $100 million. And she said they are roads falling apart, hospitals, schools etc closing and $55 million could have helped fund so many things but instead that money goes to Israel. She couldn't believe that people will vote for that.

I also watched a nurse talking about how the big beautiful bill will kick in a few months and how its is already affecting hospitals, many rural places have had their hospitals completely shut down, hospital staff have been cut and are minimal and they make fun of Canada and how Canada has a crap medical system with months or years waiting and she said that where she is and many places they have long waiting times and she just can't believe people voted for this.

These people who vote and support Trump just to "own" the liberals is so insane.

Better be good. Harnett hasn't let me down in years so I'm hopeful.

I just discovered that this is going to happen:

Quote:
DeLancey's Brigade - Revolutionary War Re-enactors

We are excited to release the schedule for our upcoming commemoration of the 250th Anniversary of the 1776 Eddy Rebellion and Siege of Fort Cumberland.
Taking place on the weekend of August 7 – 9 in Tantramar, New Brunswick, our two-venue event will include our 18th century military encampment at Mount Whatley on the grounds of St. Mark’s Anglican Church, throughout the weekend. On Saturday between 11 & 3, we will participate in anniversary events at the Fort Beausejour – Fort Cumberland National Historic Site, staged in cooperation with Parks Canada.
See the complete schedule here: https://Delanceys.org/250/Cumberland.htm
I will be there with bells on!!!

I'm a bit of a Seven Years War nerd, Fort Beausejour/Fort Cumberland National Historic Park is only 50 km from Moncton in Aulac NB. This fort has the distinction of being the site of not one but two seminal battles that helped to decide the future of Canada.

The Battle of Fort Beausejour (1755) was the only major victory by the British in the first year of the Seven Years War, and secured the borders of Nova Scotia. It was a necessary precondition to the Siege of Fortress Louisbourg.

The Battle of Fort Cumberland (1776) - the renamed Fort Beausejour, kept Nova Scotia (the 14th colony) firmly under British control during the Revolutionary War. Johnathon Eddy was a Yankee sympathizer who had a letter patent from George Washington authorizing the Capture of Fort Cumberland. A small company of British regulars in the fort supplemented by voluteers from the Sackville (NB) area were able to hold off the insurgents until help arrived from Halifax.
