Interestingly, it's the same with the Guadeloupeans and Martinicans in Greater Paris. Their numbers are decreasing too. But how would you know, if you look only at "immigrants" from a legal point of view. You have two exact same phenomenons on both sides of the Channel, but you observe one and refuse to observe the other. Makes sense.

From the AskFrance subreddit, seems to be a pretty strong consensus that the overseas departments (not territories) are every bit as part of France as Paris and Marseille.

Also I'm sure isn't open-door migration between Jamaica and Britain, while there are no immigration restrictions for those from the overseas departments.

On Wikipedia, Barcelona only covers countries 14,000 or more. Barcelona also has far fewer Latin Americans than Madrid - not surprising given the use of Catalan.

This is not comparable at all. Hawaii lost its native population, the native Hawaiians are now only a small % of the population. More than 90% of Hawaii's population is no different from the 48 contiguous states: a melting pot of people from everywhere, more predominantly Asia in the case of Hawaii. Someone from Hawaii in LA or SF is undistinguishable from another American.

Martinique and Guadeloupe have kept their Creole populations, they have specific cultures, specific cuisines, even their own languages (Guadeloupe Creole and Guadeloupe Creole), and someone from Guadeloupe and Martinique in Paris certainly stick out, if only because of their accent.

Someone from Guadeloupe and Martinique in Paris is no different than someone from Jamaica in London or someone from Puerto Rico in New York. They have their own culture, their own language, their own cuisine, their own vibes, etc. Perhaps the guy from Puerto and the guy from Guadeloupe/Martinique is technically not an immigrant because he/she has US/French passport, but that's only a legal technicality. If you wouldn't know that legal technicality, there's no way you could tell when you met them. They would just appear to you as "Caribbeans in Paris/London/New York".

You mean many unlisted are missing. You can add at the very least a dozen more for Paris if we had a list with all the countries.

That's why it's essentially futile to go down to such detail. For countries with more than 50,000, we have all of them. For countries with more than 20,000, we're missing several of them for Paris. And for countries with more than 5,000, it's futile to even try to measure them since so many are missing.

Going back to something I said a while ago, I was at the gym tonight, pretty dead because the entire city is at the beaches completing their last week of vacations, and there was this Latin American trans (from Spanish-speaking Latin America, not from Brazil) who was speaking, in French, with a Japanese guy (who had a pretty strong Japanese accent). The rest of the few people there were either Maghreban, or Mediterranean/Latin American looking. And of course the supervisor was Black (but not Black immigrant, Black French, perhaps Caribbean).

Looks pretty international to me!

Obviously not what you would experience as a tourist spending 3 days in Paris. You have to live here to experience what the locals experience.

And the the Kabyle brothers who own the supermarket at the corner of my street (regular French supermarket, not an ethnic grocer) were selling fresh dates (from Egypt). Can't remember having ever seen any in either England or America. It's pretty rare in France too, so I bought some. It tastes very different from the dates you're used too. These ones are fresh from the tree, and very crunchy (or mellowy, depending on ripeness).
