I wasn't sure where to post these and didn't want to make a new thread for it.

Opened on June 26th 1976, to marks the towers 50th birthday!

I would like to convey my warmest greetings to everyone celebrating the 50th anniversary of the CN Tower.

For 50 years, the CN Tower has risen above the City of Toronto’s skyline as a symbol of Canadian innovation and ambition. Since it opened in 1976, the landmark has offered visitors from across the country and around the world an unforgettable experience and has become a national icon, representing creativity, resilience and inclusivity.

This anniversary provides a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the CN Tower’s rich architectural heritage and its enduring legacy. I am certain that everyone taking part will enjoy the many activities planned to mark this very special occasion.

I wish you all a memorable celebration.

The Right Honourable Mark Carney, P.C., O.C., M.P.
Prime Minister of Canada
Ottawa 2026

What a great set of the CN Tower construction. It sure went up quickly.

Lots of Toronto from the good ole mid 1970s here.
Love the time-lapse shots … and of course everyone smoked.

I think the photo dated 1973 is more like 1975-76 no?
