The number of Londoners born in overseas territories is around 8000. Much smaller than Puerto Ricans in New York or those from the overseas departments in Paris.

Singaporean-born in the UK are made up mostly of "colonial Brits."

Sure but Kenyans and South Africans who've been there for a century? And all the Europeans or White people who self identify as a Venn of British and White (read: White British).

My friend I grew up with -Mr Jusztachowski was not born on an army base, nor from an expat British family. Once again, you can't lump them all the same

Buddy, I really can't keep repeating myself. Its not about the numbers but the sliding rule that's being made a little overt. Feel free to use all three or none, but let's keep it consistent.

Ah yes, how's France's spotless colonial record these days? We were all dying to know.

I didn't post those numbers for the purpose of advocating removal of every single response from the foreign born count. It was to provide context. I think Germany and Singapore are the only countries that would see a significant reduction in a "proper" foreign born count.

Otherwise it's impossible to really filter out. Does a white Australian, Canadian or American who writes "White British" do so because their parents who are British citizens or is just because their ancestry going back far enough is mostly British. Who knows?

Just because Britain relinquished sovereignty over the larger overseas territories, like Jamaica or Hong Kong.

If, tomorrow, the US relinquish sovereignty over Puerto Rico, then suddenly the foreign-born population of New York jumps by 200,000?

Tell us again about your "Swiss cheese" theory. I'm still waiting for a concrete example (name a commune, town) where supposedly the smaller size of French communes would inflate the Paris metro area.

That's because you assume only "White British" can be born abroad with British citizenship at birth. That is not the case, because, like France, Britain has lots of binationals in its former colonies (lost of binationals in Hong Kong for instance who wouldn't be counted as immigrants if they move to the UK, and they are not White British).

Where did I say that "only White British can be born abroad with British citizenship at birth?"

Not sure what you mean by "just." The independence of Jamaica and return of Hong Kong to China were important historic events.

Anybody who moves from Puerto Rico after that point wouldn't be a US citizen would they?

Oh how you tease! Lets say Hermes 13%, Menille 12%, Val d'Hazy? Sends only 11% into Paris or any of the surrounding poles?

Going back to the London numbers, how do you end up with 46,000 Jamaican-born for London and Home Counties when there's 75,000 in the city proper alone? Is that an additional 46,000 on top of the 75,000?

Ok London should be 87,200, immediate Home Counties 15,300 acc to the 2021 Census. Total should be about 102,500

The Jamaican (born) population's plummeting in London. Ageing rapidly and new migrants aren't really coming any more, plus retiring outside the city.

What's interesting is the ancestry is also declining by some viewpoints, Jamaicans having one of the highest intermarriage rates -though you can of course count mixed ancestry -at which point it's at its highest ever.

It's because of the anti-Jamaicans. When a Jamaican collides with an anti-Jamaican, they cancel each other.

A lot of the Jamaican immigration to Britain was a long time ago. During the mid-1960s Britain actually became more restrictive with the Commonwealth Immigration Act of while the US and Canada liberalized their immigration laws.
