Construction of the Ilot Dorchester project has finally started last june. It will replace what probably is the last major (about 100 000sf) private surface parking lot downtown. The buildings will gradually increase in height from 7 to 17 storey.

It will house 410 appartments, a 150-room hotel (probably a Marriot), a 30 000s.f. Maxi grocery store, several restaurants and shops and 15 000s.f. of public space. The first phase to be built will be the 17-story high rise.

I don't have a picture of the construction site but the excavation is well under way.

Not a large scale construction project, but I like the viewpoint.

I hadn't seen that before, what a great looking development, thanks for posting.

Wow, Aqualuna at Bayside came out amazing. The finished project looks like a render, not real life.

Crazy to think it's a Tridel project which just 10 years ago was considered physically incapable of building anything even remotely architecturally attractive.

50 Scollard, King, One Delisle and Aqualuna all look fantastic. I actually thought 50 Scollard and Aqualuna were renderings at first. These developments are nicer than the supertalls imo.

Not sure if this one has been reposted yet. New renderings of the "WAY" development under construction (been excavating for a while so probably crane soon) in Halifax:

The renderings are a bit odd and appear to be partly AI-generated or touched up, so a lot of the background is not real.

It is reminiscent of One77, a completed 34 storey tower. It might be the same developer.

It’s rumored that their development will be three 18 storey towers, but few details have been shared publicly so far.

It goes without saying that this southern tip of Saint John’s central peninsula will have some pretty spectacular ocean views of the Bay of Fundy and the working Port of Saint John. This school will have some of the best classroom views in Canada… lucky kids!

I know Portage Place has long been maligned and sketchy, but it was always my favourite mall… it had such amazing 80s/90s mall vibes. Sad that it’s gone, but this redevelopment should be transformational to say the least.

It's the same developer (Rank Inc) and same architect (WM Fares) as One77. It should be noted that Wadih Fares (of WM Fares) is getting the Order of Nova Scotia this year for his work - Portfolio Of His Work. A lot of the buildings shown are currently under construction.

Since I'm in this thread I'll add some of my favourite buildings going up right now and they happen to be right next to each other. (Both photos taken by me. Link in my signature).

and a rendering for the third one since the steel frame is just starting to rise.
