That was the 2007 U-20 World Cup. I was also in Montreal, Edmonton, Ottawa, Burnaby and Victoria

There were some big(ish) names playing here before they were big names
Sergio Aguero, Angel Di Maria, Jozy Altidore, Arturo Vidal, Edinson Cavani, Luis Suarez, Alexis Sanchez, Gerard Pique, etc.

Montreal hosted the Woman World Cup.

But I fail to see what the purpose of that list is when you have events not similar in importance and only one off events are included.

F1 weekend and the ATP/WTA masters tournaments should also be included. They are big events (F1 bigger obviously).

50 years since the Montreal Olympics.

Interesting that all of the venues are still in use, though some have changed what they are doing now.

50 years ago also meant the first time women were entered in the Olympic Rowing Program. Most of the women on that team went on to be instrumental in sports, sports governance and sport development.
