They are now in the final stages of finishing off the Worthington connector to Mountain Road (cleaning of the road surfaces). I suspect it will be open this weekend.

Drove down the new street. At present, the only connection at the roundabout at the top of the street is to Ayer Avenue.

I wonder if work will start on those two proposed eight storey buildings this year?

This is major! They now have a website up and running. "Construction of Station Yards properties will begin this fall." I wonder if they are still starting with block K first.

These are the first actual renders released regarding the Station Yards. It will be interesting to see how closely they will resemble the final products. Looks very nice though.

Those buildings look Nordic - like something you would find in Copenhagen or Norway.

These renders are not random. I can actually pick out on the site plan where this rendering is located:



This perspective is from the south end of the "land for public purposes, facing southward towards the stacked townhomes.

Drove through the roundabout again the other day. Work on Worthington beyond the roundabout is progressing. They are putting in curbs at present, and doing some levelling for the road surface.

I imagine Worthington will have to be complete before they start construction this fall.

This is new:

The developers are now referring to this portion of the Station Yards (in behind the Northwest Centre) as The Boulevards, and consider it to be the "downtown" of the development.

Boutique shops, cafés, and other amenities bring downtown living to your neighbourhood without the commute.

They now refer to five distinct neighbourhoods in the Station Yards:

- The Gardens (lowrise neighbourhood)
- The Parks (midrise district)
- The Vistas (highrise quarter)
- The Boulevards (retail hub)
- Shannex Retirement Living

The only real change is that they have carved The Boulevards out of a portion of the midrise district. I suppose this is an acknowledgement of the importance of having a well defined but integrated "downtown" area of the community.

Some of these Station Yards buildings if they come to reality look really nice (better than all the bland Spitfire rinse repeat buildings)...that white one with the black steel roof is snazzy looking.

The problem is that it's super easy to generate very nice looking AI renderings and I would take them with a very large grain of salt.
