I hate everything about the unfished look of this building but i do think the sign is pretty cool. I'm sure they will appeal this rejection.

Sometimes the overregulation here is just so dumb. In China, entire skylines light up at night and become tourist attractions with their elaborate light shows. Yet here, our bylaws won’t allow a rooftop sign—though the exact same signs would be approved if they were simply dropped from the roof onto the building façade, between the top-floor windows and the roofline. I mean, who even cares?





The BMO sign on 201 Portage was initially rejected too, and only got approved after an appeal.

What an awkwardly located sign. Could that be more of an afterthought? They have the money for that but. It to slap a coat of paint on that bare concrete.

As tacky as it is, I don't understand why building signs require all this additional approval, when you can have equally or more garish building lighting, signs affixed to the building itself, etc.

And, everyone gets nostalgic for the era of big garish neon lights everywhere, but we don't allow anyone to actually do anything like that anymore...

Green sign with hideous purple/pink vanity-bulb lighting and unpainted concrete, truly wish an eternity of root canals on the people responsible for that
