City staff is seeking council’s approval to hand over Orange Buffalo Lodge, a 30-unit complex at Angus Street and 5th Avenue, to YWCA Regina as its new owner and operator.

North Central Family Centre (NCFC) was previously overseeing the project, which began in 2023 and is nearly two years overdue to open its doors.

Support or oppose datacentres, but that entire project sounds like a pipe dream designed to raise interest (without actual plans).

A lot of deliveries since I was there on Saturday. With additional construction trailers it looks like the pad in the NE corner might be used for staging materials. I see two of the pile drillers are parked for the first time since they started on the first building.

Overall statistics from across the country show both crime severity (CSI) and crime rate down. In the Regina Census Metropolitan Area (CMA), the CSI declined by 12 per cent bringing the CMA from 11the in the country to 13th in 2025. The Crime Rate also declined by 12 per cent from 2024-2025 moving the Regina CMA from ninth in the country to thirteenth.

Police Chief Lorilee Davies will address the report in a media briefing Wednesday afternoon.

The Bell AI data centre near Regina has two different values that are often reported:

* Bell’s direct investment in the facility: about C$1.7 billion. This covers the land, buildings, power systems, cooling, and other physical infrastructure.
* Total value when fully equipped: approximately C$12 billion. This includes the AI computing hardware (supplied by partners such as CoreWeave and Cerebras), networking equipment, and the overall capital investment associated with the project.

In addition, Bell projects that the facility will generate up to C$12 billion in long-term economic value for Saskatchewan through jobs, taxes, and related economic activity. That figure is an estimate of economic impact, not the market value of the building itself.

So if you’re asking, “How much is the Bell AI data centre worth?” the best estimate is around C$12 billion when fully built and equipped, while Bell’s own construction investment is about C$1.7 billion.
