London construction starts higher so far this year then last driven by mostly rental apartment construction.

London joins pre-approved home designs program.

Scott Mathers, London’s deputy city manager of housing and community growth services, said that compared to a custom build, submitting a housing catalogue design could shave off between 15 and 20 days during the development application stage.

Really only applies when compared to a custom home design. Most sub-division builds already use a couple of model designs that already have been approved.

A revised plan for 2004 Hamilton Rd light industrial subdivision park. This is the NW corner of Hamilton and VMP. A large portion of which is proposed as open space north to the Thames River.

Of more interest is what could happen to the horse farm and church properties to the west. Lots of potential for either additional light industrial or commercial/retail or even residential.

The city is still planning on rebuilding the Hamilton Rd/Commissioners/ Old Victoria intersection as a roundabout in 2027 for now.

Landscaping around the now opened Shoppers in this Tridon Group commercial development in Kilworth called Crestview Crossings has started. The plaza building is getting the final exterior finishing installed. No indications yet of what may be leasing those spaces in addition to the new No Frills and Shoppers.

Shoppers Dog Fart has obnoxiously large signs. Plus, they charge $3 for a friggen chocolate bar (thanks, Galen), and force you to walk through the cosmetics section when you are just trying to get a prescription filled.

They wasted no time erecting a new 5s apartment building on Bell St in NE Ingersoll. They used Stubbes precast concrete walls/posts and floor slabs. Already have all the window modules installed.

There has been some site prep work with heavy equipment on the vacant SE corner of Fanshawe Park Rd W and Dalmagarry Rd. This is likely zoned for residential. Not sure who owns it but it may be either Drewlo or York.
