I am disappointed.
This could have been a crown jewel for downtown as a boutique hotel & oldest downtown building.
That fact it has not been torn down might be an indication there is still some hope for it to be saved?

If it was redeveloped the only downside is that I would imagine that would be the end of Blue Note Park...

The Reh-Fit Centre is embarking on a major $145 million renovation and expansion project to significantly enhance its role as a community hub for health, rehabilitation, and wellness. Set to roughly double the facility’s size, the development will introduce a comprehensive Centre of Well-Being featuring a warm-water therapy pool, a cooler lap pool, hot tub and hydrotherapy areas, sauna and steam rooms, expanded rehabilitation clinics, larger fitness and strength training zones, group studios, quiet recovery/meditation spaces, universal changerooms, community lounges, and an on-site café. The project is designed with minimal disruption in mind, proceeding in phases while keeping the centre fully operational. Phase 1 (parkade) is already underway and expected to finish in fall 2026, with the main expansion running from September 2026 to August 2029. The initiative aims to improve access to services and programs, ultimately helping more Manitobans lead longer, healthier, and more connected lives, supported in part by a $20 million fundraising campaign.

Construction is steadily progressing, and we're pleased to share that installation of the precast concrete structure is now approximately 65% complete. Every week brings visible changes, and it's exciting to see this important project taking shape.

Other progress updates:

· The first stairwell is in place, with handrails scheduled to be installed next week

· As the crane completes its work within the building footprint, crews are preparing the ground for the first major concrete slab pour

· The carpentry team is prefabricating the formwork that will be used to construct the interior curbs of the parkade

Despite extended periods of rain and high winds, the Bird Construction crew has continued to make excellent progress while always putting safety first. Their hard work has kept delays to a minimum and the project on schedule.

The only reconfiguration done was the exit ramp to Chancellor, it's been moved to directly to Pembina.

I believe the City is planning on upgrading the stretch from Waverley to River this summer.

Aecon consortium wins $815M Winnipeg sewage plant upgrade contract

A consortium led by Aecon Group Inc. has won an $815-million contract for a sewage plant upgrade project in Winnipeg.

The Winnipeg North End Sewage Treatment Plant is the city’s largest and oldest wastewater treatment facility.

The upgrade project is expected to help it meet environmental regulations, protect waterways and expand water treatment capacity.

In addition to Aecon, the Red River Biosolids Partners consortium includes MWH Constructors and Oscar Renda Contracting, with each partner holding a 33.3 per cent interest.

Stantec is providing design services.

The upgraded facilities are expected to start operations in the fourth quarter of 2030, with final construction completed in the second quarter of 2031.

I concur. It would likely have to be another colour, but the restrained,clean lines, blend in with the focus of an existing house of worship.
The height is impactful.
I say someone, please bring it to us.
Also, if someone can get something going height wise on the former St Regis site, and the other lot on Graham, between Fort & Garry, that would greatly bring a more cohesive vibe in that area of current concrete blaze to that quadrant downtown.
Its right by Portage & Main.
Our skyline is in need of height as well. lol
