Windsor/West Hants

I see work is feverishly underway for the new retail node in Windsor. They're shaping the land like gangbusters.
Does anyone have the site plans?

A Sobeys and a new Minibox Kent store are going there but I do NOT have plans.

Great! Thank you!
I wonder what will take the place of Sobeys and Kent when they decamp from their current spots?
A Giant Tiger would be a good fit for the Sobeys spot.
There had been discussion a few years ago that some apartment buildings were to mix in there as well with retail on the ground floor. I think those thoughts are gone.
Scotiabank, too, was rumoured to be relocating to that new development.

Did anyone catch the information session for the proposed 19 storey building? I am not sure if the project is still proposed or if they altered it all.

Looks like the presentations from United Gulf and from municipal staff can be found here: https://www.westhants.ca/departments/pla...ndsor-pid-45056447-development-agreement

United Gulf will never build that, but there is a chance that they get it fully approved and pawn it off to some sucker in the hotel/entertainment business

That site has been cursed for decades. So many promises and false starts that never amounted to anything. There can't be much of the original mill structure left that could amount to anything. And United Gulf's track record is far from stellar. Put me in the "dubious" camp.

My thoughts as well. It would be nice to have a landmark style building and others in that area, the municipality put a lot of infrastructure improvements in place. A 19 storey deal is something that will look absolutely out of place. Fingers crossed, that something suitable is built.
