Thanks for the information, I just made minor edits to the list with the changes. I did it all on my phone so some things were messed up lol

I wanted to add the Sheppard Extension, but I’ve left it off for now since we don’t know exactly what the scope is going to be (east only, or east and west) and where the stops are going to be just yet.

Ottawa O-Train East Extension achieves substantial completion.

Unfortunately, trains are having issues so it's running half capacity, so we can't start trial running.

Next steps to opening Line 1 East in Ottawa, adding 12 km of rail and 5 new stations.

So much more bang for your buck with level crossings but to me grade separation should be the norm, wherever possible, especially with the ridership we get in Ottawa/Calgary/Edmonton for our systems.

It’s always good to see transit expansion, but every time I see these at grade urban level crossings, I’m so happy that Vancouver has continued with Skytrain / subways for its backbone system.

There is no such thing as a "one size fits all" rapid transit system. Whether they be BRT, LRT, or subway/Metro, they all have their place depending upon the area and capacity needs. That said, these at-grade LRTs have, in the last 2 decades, become rapid transit du jour much to the detriment of the travelling public.

Eglinton LRT is a stellar example of an LRT that should have been a subway and now Torontonians are stuck with a much lower capacity system that is slower and less reliable than a subway yet more expensive to operate due to an inability to automate it. All these deficiencies and yet it still came in at subway prices and took over a decade to build. Conversely, Finch is a route that should have been a BRT but due to Miller's TransitCity plan of 20 years ago which was a LRT or nothing one, the City has gotten inferior transit for astronomical prices.

I agree - that west Edmonton line is going to be painfully slow. Reminds me of the Portland and Seattle airport lines.
