take this with a grain of salt, because:

1. They count Tesla Model Y as 'luxury'?!? Well that explains SF.

2. Ford F150s can go for over 100k...

I have an Acura and my wife has a Lexus and there's really not much difference between them and a comparable Honda or Toyota, tbh. 'Luxury' these days is just really the branding because yeah, a decked out King Ranch is much more luxurious than all but the top of the line BMW's or Mercedes.

California and the Feds gave Elon a huge hand-off due to tax incentives, it was often cheaper to buy a Tesla than a regular Japanese car because you got $7500 discount to buy electric.
