Skinner is absolutely intended as a possible Hellebuyck replacement if the right trade offer comes through. Have Skinner under contract takes the pressure off Chevy needing to get a top goalie in return for Hellebuyck in the trade and those opens up more possibilities especially near the trade deadline depending on which teams are looking to contend and which are looking to secure a high draft pick.
