When nature calls, Waterloo, Ont., resident Amy Perry answers honestly.
Perry is the founder of “Flush and Tell: Waterloo Region,” a Facebook group with more than 300 members that review restrooms in restaurants, cafes, and public spaces.
“I wanted to create a space where people could talk about the public washroom experiences that they’re having in Waterloo Region,” she said.
Perry launched the group at the end of April. Members can post pictures of washrooms as long there are no people, or anything they’ve left behind, in the image.
“We really discourage photos of really gross toilets,” Perry said. “No one needs to see that as they’re just scrolling through their feed.”...

Just got back from a trip to Montreal. I got to see Clockzilla in person. I was bouncing around in my seat like a child before I realized there was no way I could explain to the rest of the car why I was so excited

Sadly the closest I have seen the OG big daddy was from l’Oratoire St-Joseph. I considered a pilgrimage to go see it in person on my last visit 3 years ago, but my family lives on the south shore and it’s too long of a trek.

Did you drive by or choose the Reno Depot parking lot view?

I don't think I would get permission from my wife to go out to Laval to do the pilgrimage to Eddy Savoie's house of horrors. It would be very difficult to explain my fascination and revulsion of Clockzilla.

For the full effect, I think you have to go to the Reno Depot parking lot. Preferably on an overcast day. Don't look Clockzilla in the eye, lest you turn to stone.

I used to live about a 10 minute walk from the Oratory.

That Google Maps view comes close to matching the famous Reno-Depot parking lot vista for soul-sucking awfulness. Although with Clockzilla being farther away, the potency of its ugliness is not as strong.

That hospital looks like it might be Art Deco. Is it nice inside? Funny you were born in the future shadow of Clockzilla. I’m guessing the giant Orange Julep was there though. And a future BowlAnus McDonald’s franchise. Speaking of BowlAnus, do you think he’s locked away in one of Les Residences Soleil these days?
