Warm and dry with a mix of sun and cloud (mostly cloud).

Friday's high at Vancouver Harbour was 21 C (25 C w/Humidex), the low was 14 C.

The heatwave ended with a wicked storm last night, lots of trees and branches down. Today we are back to normal temperatures.

It reached a high of 30C in Moncton this afternoon (Humidex 36), but a dry cold front has just passed through and the temperature has dropped to a pleasant 21C at 9 PM/

Upcoming week is wall to wall sunshine with temperatures ranging from 21-27C.

The last few years have featured cool wet springs followed by a long hot dry summer. It appears that pattern will happen again this summer too.

27C with a humidex of 29 and sunny. Thin cirrus clouds weakened the sun from time to time. Pretty much back to normal. Like i predicted this heat wave was a bust for Montreal. 3 days above 30C and 3 nights above 20C and that was it. Nothing record breaking.

The low was 23C (humidex of 30) this morning. Leftover humidity still in the morning which is why the humidex was higher AM than PM.

The warmspot was Western Head, NS at 33.5C.

Warmest low yesterday was Toronto (Pearson), ON at 23.6C.

The humidity has broken. 19C and sunny in Moncton at 10 AM, going up to 22C this afternoon.

I finally got around to checking out Oakridge Park. It's a cool public amenity, and a good place to walk off the food from Time Out Market.

It was warm and sunny.

28C (humidex of 29) and sunny. Went from extremely humid to extremely dry. Dewpoint dipped below 9C this afternoon. That's just about the only thing I could complain about. Everything else was 10/10.

Low of 17C this morning. First sub 20C temperature this month.

The warmspot was Dauphin, MB at 32.5C.

Warmest low yesterday was Toronto (Downtown), ON at 22.1C.

Spent the weekend in the Crossnest Pass and Columbia Valley. Saturday in Fernie the a drive up to Radium Hot Springs. Beautiful drive. Driving in from Alberta of Highway 3 through Frank, Coleman and Blairmore. Hot and dry.

The from Fernie up 93 to Radium (about 2 hours). 2 long soaks in the Hot pools. ( I think are the best ones in the NPs). Then a beautiful Drive up through the Kootenai Pass to Lake louse. Still lots of snow in the high country. To many tourist but still a great day for a drive in the mountain. Icefield Parkway in its sunny glory. Temps went from 30 in Radium to 17 in Lake Louise. Still up to 18 as we turned off into the David Thompson and Highway 11. Heading east out of the mountains. North on 22 out of Rocky Mountain house was about 22C. The country side is in Summer glory. But what struck me was the vast area invested with Tent caterpillars. almost every aspen for hundreds of kms were stripped of leaves.

Not a lot of photos since I was driving but the wife got a few. Came across a heard of wild horses near Nordegg. Lots of dear, mountain sheep and mountain goats. but no bears. about 1400 kms in 3 days. but anytime in the mountains is great. The southern Rockys don't get enough love.

Agreed. I think Waterton is better than Banff.

I spent Thursday through Sunday in Jasper and the weather was a mixed bag. Mostly nice on Thursday with a few short showers here and there, Friday was beautiful and we took full advantage by doing the Valley of Five Lakes trail followed by a walk through town and dinner on a patio. Saturday was cloudy, rainy, and cool, but we took the tram up Whistlers (a family member we were with had never been), where the temperature was only 6, but surprisingly calm with no wind whatsoever. Afterwards, we hit up Miette Hot Springs (the best of the Rockies' hot springs) before heading back to the campground. Sunday was sunny, but cooler, so we just hung around the campground before heading home.

The weather back here is better than it was in June, but still looking a bit mixed for the coming week. 23 today, 28 Tues., 23 Wed., back to rain on Thursday for the Elks game (of course) and a high of only 22, and a chance of showers and 23 on Friday.

I've had a varmint in my walls for the last few weeks. Very noisy. Finally broke down and got a pest control person in to have a look. Turns out it's a raccoon (not a surprise given the racket). 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵 expensive to get rid of it.

They are however a humane pest control company, and will do modifications to my house to make it more pest resistant.

You remind me, MonctonRad... a not-quite-first-world thing about here, I suspect, though I wouldn't be surprised, and would be pleased, if someone mentions it's also the norm elsewhere in Canada:

Neighbour had pest control visit again when she came downstairs and there was a housecat-sized rat in her kitchen, and he finally told her, "If you block up all the rat holes in your basement, they'll come up into the house. You need to leave them alone in the basement or crawlspace, they have highways throughout St. John's. If you leave that alone, they'll leave you alone. They're not coming up into the house, they're going from parks and lakes to the harbourfront and anywhere the sewers are broken underground."

Which, for financial reasons, is what I've been doing. I don't have a basement, only a care crawlspace with old foundations and chimney bricks and bare earth. It's only a few inches high on the uphill side, but there's room to stand up (probably 6-8 feet) of space on the downhill side.

30C with a humidex of 34 and sunny. Calm winds, moderate humidity (although I wish it was a bit higher), clear skies. 10/10 day. I believe we are officially in our longest above average weather stretch in 10 months. That's not saying much as it's been only 2 weeks. Just need this continue well into 2027 and it will have made up for it.

Low of 18C this morning.

The warmspot was Lytton, BC at 35.5C.

Warmest low yesterday was Cedar Springs, ON at 21.2C.

The last couple weeks have seen some decent warmth in Nunavut, but yesterday and today were quite exceptional in Iqaluit, hitting 25.1 yesterday and 24.4 today.
