The people of Rimouski could confirm but I think it’s a concrete wall right by the river with rocks showing up at low tide.

Nice Lévis shots! I had no idea the railway has been removed and replaced by a multi use path, pretty neat.

Yes, that's my route to work combined with a ferry crossing.

I took this on the weekend. It will never cease to amaze me that this view is just a 15 minute drive from downtown Vancouver:

/\ makes you wish you had a boat eh? Or a yacht. Nice Rimouski, Quebec and Halifax pics above as well.

Uchuck III at Point Hope Maritime - June 11, 2026 by JohnnyJayEh, on Flickr

The Uchuck in for it's yearly maintenance. It's a 1942 built former US Navy mine sweeper (the wood hull is important for that) but has long been a supply ship and ferryto remote communities on the west coast of Vancouver Island. Good history here in a TC news story. Our first car in a small town I used to live in on the west coast of the island was brought in aboard this ship before there was a viable road connection.

I think it's great that they close down Water street for the summer. It would be nice if we had that in Calgary, they've been talking about doing it here for 17th ave forever it seems like.

Most downtownies here are pushing for it to be pedestrianized permanently, at least a smaller portion. Christmas markets, NYE, romantic Valentine's Days, etc.

The only downside to pedestrianizing it solely June-October is that the street is deader than it ever was from October-June.

Maybe if it was closed to cars year-round it would not be? Weather-permitting.

Here they shut down about 3 km of one of the main streets two Sundays of the year in spring and early fall... anything longer would be met with screeches of disdain by many city drivers (though King Street will be on a permanent road diet if LRT gets built).
