I hope Saul is right and there's a successful appeal through the URB. But what a waste of time and effort. I can picture in my mind the premier and the prime minister with eyes wide and mouth agape thinking WTF! ...we've been working our asses off and this is the best they can do to provide housing?...maybe move the sub program to Quebec where some city might make an effort? This has to be councilor self preservation. It shouldn't be too hard for a councilor to sell this project to citizens. Looking at the posted pic you can see the house reflected in the new building. Personally I'm not a fan of window shutters on a mid-rise but whatever. This was an opportunity to lock-in good sized units in a decent looking building (ie. not a Jubilee Road special) in a great location on existing infrastructure near future higher order transit.
