I Googled...If Canada beats Switzerland, then Canada will play their next game at home in Vancouver which is fantastic for Vancouver, will Toronto have a chance at a Canada knock out round and finally if Canada play in the Wolrd Cup Chapionship game, will it be playered in Vancouver or Toronto or is that championship venue already prepdetermined?...I know I'm thinking way in fantasy ahead of reality but that is why we are in the tournament, to win it all!
The final championship game is going to be played in NewYork/New Jersey in the 85000 capacity stadium there

All match locations are predetermined.

If we win or draw Switzerland on the 24th we will win the group. That would mean our round of 32 match will be here in Vancouver and if we win that so would our round of 16 match.

If we loose to Switzerland we will almost certainly be group runner up. That would mean round of 32 in LA and the potential round of 16 in Houston.

not almost certainly, but certainly. Win or draw and we're in Vancouver. The next opponent, most likely, is quite beatable (and almost certainly weaker than Switzerland, on paper). The one after that in R16 will be Colombia or Portugal, probably.

We win, it's one of the third-place teams from the other groups; lose, it's the runner-up from Group A (Czechia or Korea). Either way, all we have to do is not screw up to have a shot at the quarter-finals.

2026 FIFA tourists are quite different from 2010 Olympic tourists. Olympic tourists can basically stay in one spot for two weeks, with a trip between Whistler and Vancouver. They had the space to explore the city and region. The Aussies, for instance, probably stayed in Vancouver for 1-2 nights, and then left for Seattle (not sure where their next match is). Not much time to explore. Also, sounds more exhausting and expensive.

Luckily for people in Vancouver, the tourist attractions around the stadium are plentiful and easy to get to - Science World, Granville Island (the water taxi is an attraction in of itself), Stanley Park, Seawall, Lonsdale, Seabus, Chinatown, Gastown.

There is still a possibility that Bosnia or Qatar places 2nd in the group.

Missed opportunity to get a full week's rest and stay in Vancouver.

Now they have to travel to LA and play on the 28th on 4 days' rest against (likely) South Korea... it will be a home game for them in LA.

is the next round one and done or do they get to play more than one game?

Traffic going in today was so light, coming home was heavy, I guess no one wanted to stay and celebrate.

Knockout is one game each, yes - we lose now, that's it.

We'll likely play South Korea, that will be confirmed after the two remaining matches in that group which start at 6 this evening.

Yes, 3 more matches in Vancouver; New Zealand - Belgium on Friday then the two knock-out matches in July.

I was at the game today! Pity they lost. I still think Marsch should have subbed Davies in in the last 10 or 15 minutes. They really made some unforced errors that Switzerland capitalized on. Unfortunate. Glad we're advancing to knockout though, but I feel bad for fans that wanted to see them play R32 in Vancouver.

The start of the 2nd half was terrible. You deserve to lose with that effort in the World Cup.

That said I agree with getting Davies some minutes. Or he's less ready than we've been led to believe.

I was still in an insanely long line at the men's bathrooms, so I missed the first goal the Swiss scored. I blame not being at my seat.

And yes, a buddy of mine said as much on social media re: Davies. The only possible explanation is that his recovery is more down to the wire than Marsch has let on and he's not worth even a few minutes. Really disappointing given now 2 out of 3 CAN games have featured a sub scoring within minutes of coming onto the pitch (Larin and David).

Hindsight is 20/20 but they needed those subs earlier. The push at the end shows how aggressive they can be.

The whole team is struggling with the pressure of playing at home, and what is still unprecedented success for Canada at a World Cup. Maybe a change of scenery in LA will help.
