I can't really think of better intersections. I would think maybe eventually a scramble crossing at Edmonton & Portage would make sense when Portage Place redevelopment is done? Lots of people are treating it as a scramble crossing with construction closing off one side of the side walk. The only other one I can think of is maybe River x Osborne but even that high pedestrian traffic is sporadic at best.

The King St scramble was always awkward. I've been there many times with no pedestrians and the vehicles are all just waiting for nobody.

Go to Montreal for example, where they will typically have leading pedestrian signals. And many locations do have scramble crossings because vehicles are already waiting for the pedestrian signal anyways. The logic is different there. No right turns on red. Pedestrians first.
