The problem is, status quo has gotten us into this, and will guarantee that it will be years before we are out of it (if we are ever), and doesn’t guarantee that we won’t go back into it again in a few years, a decade, whenever. Meanwhile we will have at least a whole generation of our young people who may never get to enjoy more affordable (however you define it) housing that previous (and maybe future) generations have (and may).
The whole reason I posted my gibberish is to say that we have to do better than this.
