Considering that this project wan't supposed to be known about yet (private video deleted minutes after being shared here), you can still apply for an apartment on their website and people are still living there, I doubt there's any movement on this.

And if this availability page for 300 Main is accurate, I counted 214 units available from a total of 354 built. That's 140 leased out, which I think is pretty good for San Antonio all things considered...but not a runaway hit. And considering economic uncertainty with the current administration, it's possible it could be delayed due to rising material costs.

Demolition

One of the three Soap Factory apartment complexes downtown has been totally demolished. I was driving through Martin Street and noticed it today.

Could that be related to the baseball stadium?

I do know there was a fire at one of the buildings in that section a few weeks back. This was meant to be gradually demolished either way of course. The section that's gone now is the one where the apartment tower is slated to go.

Weston Urban proposes 27-story apartment tower, 160-key hotel as part of ballpark plan
San Antonio Business Journal
https://www.bizjournals.com/sanantonio/news/2026/03/18/weston-urban-ballpark-housing-hotel.html

"The developers have committed to up to $1 billion in private development enveloping the ballpark."

San Antonio Missions complex take shape with new apartments and hotel
https://www.aol.com/news/san-antonio-missions-complex-shape-220006115.html

"309 Travis, named for its address, will be larger at 27 stories. Weston Urban filed fewer details about what perks residents might enjoy, but did say the structure would be integrated with the San Fernando gymnasium, retaining the upper-level basketball court and transforming the lower spaces into exercise rooms."

Maybe we'll get some official renderings in the next few weeks. I'm hoping it isn't the same design as the leaked video. Would rather not have a second 400' great wall building lol. Some height in this area will be good though regardless.

The HDRC document is now available: https://sanantonio.primegov.com/viewer/preview?id=0&type=8&uid=1aaa251e-e9ca-4f76-a94a-86acc18642e4

Here are a couple stills from there, the orientation of the building has changed but the original design is for the most part still intact. My guess is somewhere in the 330 foot range for height.

I think you're right about the height. And yes, the design looks basically the same while the orientation is 90º from the original. I think that's better because it means more residents will have good views and they won't have the blazing hot sun shining directly toward them from the west in the afternoons.

Here's the image you shared in the baseball stadium thread:

We'll also have an excellent view of construction from the webcam on the University Health System building.

The imagery shows a park(?), but the plans list the Soap Factory Apartments on that part of the block... outside of the new construction zone. So I assume the old apartments on that part of the block will stay?

No, that is just listing the site as it currently is or was. Those buildings are gone. There is no more soap factory apartments.

I'm so encouraged that they are keeping the gym. That will be an awesome touch for this development.

Not all of it, only the structures within phase 1 of the development. Basically, the complex that was in-between W Martin, N Santa Rosa, W Travis, and the creek.

Just looking at these... you know, they could fit a tennis court or nice green space/function space on top of that garage. Instead they're just going to build the top of a garage. I assume residents would rather look at and use something besides the top of a garage.
