Likely once the change is permanently made there will be dedicated bus lanes along Howe and Seymour.

I've always felt having busses on Granville made it feel safer and less isolated. Guess it will do the same on Seymour and Howe now.

By me today:

Here's hoping Simons will have an entrance on Howe so it's not turning its back on Robson St.

It wont.

Howe is a service street, even the City isn't really interested in changing that perspective.

That's too bad.
It'll be a long walk from the West End to the front door of Simons,
as both SW and SE corners at Robson will be occupied by other tenants (Aritzia and an unnamed Tenant).

You can always cut through the 725 Granville lobby, it has both a Howe and Georgia entrance.

I remember in the 90s there was a lot more connectivity through Eatons.
There was also a TD Bank exit and an Eaton's entrance in that atrium so from the office tower, you could walk indoors at grade to Robson.

Looks like they will raise the awning so the Simons sign will be visible above the bus shelter.
... and the lettering on the blade sign will have the building at the base of the lettering, not like the CF Pacific Centre one.

Pics by me today.
(Just noticed the FIFA street lamp banners)

I wonder when they plan on putting forward the rezoning?

The demo permit was just for the tower so I guess they stop there for the time being.

The original hotel reno DP got withdrawn on June 3rd, 2025

I assume it'll be a full on rezoning if it's a mixed use tower.

Perhaps this signals that the new proposal will be submitted imminently?

In January the archive version of the page still shows it just being approved so they probably updated it sometime this spring.
